Andrew Mitchell completed his doctoral studies in 2024 within the NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community and University of Divinity partnership. His thesis, titled Shalom: Towards New Narratives of Right-Relationship for the Baptist Union of Victoria, proposes a framework for Baptist Union of Victoria churches to create new narratives concerning right-relationship with local Indigenous community. It seeks to bring Aboriginal models of relationship into conversation with Baptist ecclesiology to explore what common ground emerges. Andrew also sits on the faculty of NAIITS and is a member of their journal editorial team. He has a Master of Arts from Ridley College (Australian University of Theology) and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from RMIT University. He holds other roles with the Baptist Union of Victoria.
