Christine has served as an active Salvation Army officer for four decades providing leadership in pastoral, academic, spiritual and leader development roles. For much of that time she was part of the faculty of Catherine Booth College, a forerunner of the current Eva Burrows College. She has taught in the disciplines of practical theology, spirituality, and systematic theology, including on the history and theology of The Salvation Army in relation to spiritual formation. In 2010, she published Other Voices which explores the presence of the contemplative tradition in the history of The Salvation Army. More recently, her PhD thesis explored the experience of Gender Equity in The Salvation Army in Australia. In retirement from active officership, Christine continues to teach, and to practice in the areas of spiritual direction and professional supervision.
