Rev. Dr Christopher Dowd OP is a member of the Department of Church History. He is Chaplain of Monash University and the Provincial Historian and Archivist of the Australasian Dominican Province.
He holds a Bachelor of Theology from (UDiv), a Bachelor of Arts with Honours, and a Master of Arts from Flinders University, and a Doctorate in Philosophy from Australian National University.
His has taught church history at Yarra Theological Union and sacred scripture, theology at Australian Catholic University.
His current academic interests are the Dominican friars in Australia and the south-west Pacific; conflict in the South Australian Catholic Church mid-19th century; life of Archbishop Robert Spence OP of Adelaide, 1864-1934; Dominican Order and art.
