Rev. Dr Christopher Dowd OP is a member of the Department of Church History.
He holds a Bachelor of Theology from UDiv, a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Master of Arts from Flinders University, and a Doctorate in Philosophy from Australian National University.
His has taught church history at Yarra Theological Union and sacred scripture and theology at Australian Catholic University.
His current academic interests are the Dominican friars in Australia and the south-west Pacific; the life of Archbishop Robert Spence OP of Adelaide, 1864-1934; the Dominican Order and art; Catholic Church history in Europe, Australia and globally in the modern world.
He is an associate of the Dominican Historical Institute in Rome and a member of the Australian Catholic Historical Society..
