Cos is alumni of RMIT University where completed his PhD in Mathematics. Specializing in computational and analytic methods. It was a natural migration for him to industry during the dot-com bubble. During this period, he because heavily involved in project management, team development and cutting edge technology development.
He has since returned to academia and is a Senior Lecturer in Chisholm Institute’s Higher Education College and subject matter specialist in data analysis. He is also heavily involved in Chisholm’s pathway program for students wishing to move from vocational education to tertiary. In 2020, he was awarded Chisholm’s Educator of the Year, a welcomed recognition of his teaching career.
Over the last decade, Cos has been interested in computational applications of a cluster of virtues that correlate with specific demographic observations in large data models. Currently, he is working on implementing these insights into expert agents (Narrow AI) with an aim to creating a virtues toolkit to better enhance communication between people.
Recently, he has reignited his interest in transhumanism and post-humanism and is currently applying extrapolation techniques to current technological development. He has already presented work on the techniques used in social media in manipulating users, as well as the possibility of developing a virtuous AI.
