With thirty-seven years’ experience in Catholic education, John Meneely has engaged in this vital ministry of the Church is as teacher, school and system leader and most recently Deputy Director in the Diocese of Ballarat.
In this role John had strategic oversight of Catholic identity, religious education and leadership development across the diocesan education community, which includes the sixty-four schools of the diocese and the Catholic Education Office Ballarat (CEOB).
John is grounded in a passion for and commitment to the ethos and mission that is education in the Catholic tradition. His teaching draws on Catholic anthropology that recognizes the inherent dignity of each person which in turn shapes the person and practices of the teacher and the students they teach.
John’s teaching has a particular focus on enhancing Catholic school identity and the promotion of the Catholic Dialogue school as catering to the plurality of faith expressions present in the current school context.
