Rev. Dr Sean Gilbert has now retired from his teaching position at Uniting College, SA. However, he remains active in HDR supervision and professional pastoral supervision. He is currently the president of the Association for Reflective Practice in Theological Education (ARPTE). He continues to lecture and write when invited to do so, with a particular emphasis in theopoetics.

Formative in his own educational journey was a Masters’ program (and research thesis) he completed while living and studying in Boston, USA as well as his more recently awarded PhD through Flinders University, SA in which he explored the close relationship between spiritual affections and the pastoral disposition.
