Shivon is a Registered Counsellor, Clinical Family Therapist, Mental Health Practitioner and Accredited Supervisor. She is passionate about families and takes a special interest in working with young people around issues of complex mental illness and the role of family relationships in recovery.
Throughout her professional career Shivon has practiced in a variety of settings including Private Practice, counselling young people and families, and providing professional supervision for practicing counsellors. She currently works in Independent Education in the Student Services Team where she works with children, adolescents and families to support young people’s educational, social and emotional development, and mental health. In addition, she provides specialised family therapy within her workplace in the context of youth specific mental health concerns. Shivon has also worked in Community Health in the Child, Youth and Family Team, working alongside cultural and linguistically diverse families with complex needs; specifically, perinatal, infant and youth mental health and attachment disorders.
Shivon is a part of the Counselling Faculty at Stirling Theological College and actively teaches the following units: Group Counselling; Family Counselling; Counselling Children and Adolescents and Supervised Counselling Practicum.
